This past year has been crazy to say the least. Lots of changes have taken place and everyone has been affected differently. With that in mind, our Magic Elite community came together to make donations for an Easter Basket Drive. We not only teach basketball at Magic Elite but also emphasize the kindness and thoughtfulness we show towards others.
Two players from our Academy teams, Noah and Josh Shiad, approached Coach Sean with the idea to participate in building baskets for people in need. Coach Sean and Magic Elite regularly participate in philanthropic events, so we were excited to take Noah and Josh up on their suggestion and organize this drive with them. We are so very grateful to the families in Magic Elite that contributed to the drive and made the lives of those in need a little brighter this holiday season.
“It makes me really happy to know that the Magic Elite community is open to giving back to others. Every time we do an event like this we never have a shortage of donations.” – Coach Sean
These donations will be put into various Easter baskets and will be distributed by a local Catholic Church in Aliso Viejo, Corpus Christi. Each basket contains sealed chocolate bunnies, goldfish, teddy grahams, bubbles, coloring books, small stuffed animals, and gift cards. We are happy to say that Magic Elite was able to donate seventeen Easter Baskets to South County Outreach, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in crisis in Orange County. Our parents are thrilled to be a part of a program that cares about the community and giving back. One of our volunteer parents Connie Shiad shared, “OMG my heart is so full! I’ve just unpacked the Easter goodies and it looks like we can come up with a ton of baskets!”
